Enough With the Weather!

I think it's either a bad coincidence or we're having in a very uncommon weather pattern! They said that it was warm in Arizona! They lied!
This is what it looked like in Nebraska when we left Monday morning! We made it to Deming New Mexico, which is on the south end of the State on I 10. We had to spend two nights there instead of one, due to a Blizzard! It got down to 22 degrees, and our Aqua-Hot heating system is getting a hard workout! Before we could leave the campground in Deming, DH had to crawl up on the top of the motorhome and use my blow dryer to thaw the slide toppers in order to roll in the slide outs and get ready to go.
We were able to get on the road towards Arizona about 11 a.m. and there was snow on the mountains, hills and the desert floor all the way to the Arizona border and then it went away for a bit but then more snow on the peaks around Tucson.
The white stuff faded away the farther north we came,Picacho Peak was clear.
Only the remnants of heavy rain remained all around when we pulled in to the Desert Valley Resort at Eloy.

This is just crazy! The sun came out today and it was in the 50s but it's still too dang cold and we'll just have to put up with this until Mother Nature decides to quit throwing such a fit. We're having a whirlwind weekend, trying to fit in all of the visiting with our friends here in this area before we move on to Yuma on Monday. We will be heading up to Chandler (south Phoenix) tomorrow afternoon to meet up with one of DH's hunting buddies for supper. We will be heading farther West on I 8 Monday to our winter destination where it's always supposed to be the warmest. We will see.....

  1. Where are you guys staying when you get to Yuma? We should be there on the 9th and staying a Yuma Lakes for a week before heading over to the BLM land. Know Ed would love to play golf with Dan.
